Wednesday’s Rio Nightlife Pick – Tonight the Karaokê Indie party at Casa da Matriz in Botafogo will open its winter season with a very special Festa Junina edition.
The Festa Junina, entitled Arraiá da Casa da Matriz will take place on St. John’s Day and to honor the saint and in observance of the holidays, Casa da Matriz will be filled with straw, flags, straw hats, and other agrarian-themed holiday decorations.
Popcorn will be distributed throughout the night and there will be cake and other corn-based food. Shots of Chuva cachaça also will be freely distributed throughout the night and promotions will include two for one specials on five drinks; caipirinha, mojito, caipivodka, Hi-fi, and Cuba Libre.
Additionally during the night, the Justa Fanfa party will take place on the second floor with DJ Ivy spinning the best of the 90s, axé, classic pagode, pop, funk and more.

Picasso Exhibition Opening (Centro)
Today the exhibition “Picasso e a Modernidade Espanhola” (Picasso and Spanish Modernity) opens at Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil (CCBB) in Centro. Featuring approximately ninety works by Spanish painter Pablo Picasso and his contemporaries, the exhibition will remain open through September 7th.
