Wednesday’s Rio Nightlife Pick – The Karaokê Indie party returns to Casa da Matriz in Botafogo and in addition to karaoke tonight, the California 021 party will take place on the second floor.
For the special party, DJs Alexandre Brandão and Ricardo Abrahin will spin the best of Californian rock including surf rock, punk, hardcore, hard rock, indie, nu metal and alternative rock.
Down below on the first floor, the weekly party’s karaoke selections include thousands of songs ranging from pop to rock to metal to electro and soul, and of course, indie.

The 22nd edition of the competitive international animated film festival known as Anima Mundi continues today with screenings and events at Lapa’s Fundição Progresso, Espaço Itaú de Cinema Botafogo, and Ipanema’s Oi Futuro. Ginga Tropical (Catete)
Exeperience Brazil’s rich musical history at Casarão Ameno Resedá in Catete tonight as the venue holds the Ginga Tropical theater event featuring the best of Brazilian rhythms and dancing. A tribute to Brazilian legend Carmen Miranda kicks things off followed by cabaret and an homage to famous Brazilian televison presenter Osvaldo Sargentelli. The show will continue with samba, dancing Orixás, lambada, forró, maracatu, pagode, bossa nova, funk and frevo, almost everything one needs to get a true feel for the rhythms and musical culture of Brazil in one night.
