Wednesday’s Rio Nightlife Pick – Vinyl purists will be glad to know that some of Rio’s top hip hop talents are getting together for a night of musical education at Studio RJ in Arpoador. The popular beachfront venue will be hosting V.U. – Vinyl United.
Vinyl was the format that DJs played from the Seventies well into the early 2000′s, before CDs and computer software such as Traktor or Serato came into play. Since then vinyl has taken a backseat to technology. There are those, however, who feel that the sound of a needle on a vinyl record cannot be matched. Tonight that statement will be put to the test with Rio’s own DJ Pachu, Saci and Lulinha from Eletrobase and DJ Saddame.

The gang from Bem Brasil are starting up a new Wednesday night at the ever famous Fosfobox club in Copacabana. The night will feature a mixup of hip hop upstairs and house downstairs, featuring DJs Haron Dufau and Dymytryus. Arrive early for two hours of free caipirinhas.
