Tuesday’s Rio Nightlife Pick – British singer Folakemi performs live again tonight at the Leviano bar in Lapa beginning at 9PM.
Every Tuesday night during the month of September, Folakemi and her quartet, have been presenting a varied repertoire of jazz, soul, blues and reggae live at the venue.
The quartet consists of André Severo on guitar and vocals, Francisco Sartori on keyboard, Ébano Machel on bass and vocals and Luiz de Urjaiss on drums.
Additionally, Rádio Rua will spin during breaks in tonight’s show.

It’s Portuguese/English language exchange night at the Lapa Irish Pub. Set up like speed dating, native English speakers will be paired up with native Portuguese speaker at tables. The pairs will then speak English for 5 minutes followed by Portuguese for 5 minutes. After those ten minutes, each speaker will move on to a new table and conversation partner.
