Tuesday’s Rio Nightlife Pick – Tonight at Theatro NET RIO in Copacabana, singer Thaís Gulin will perform live with special guests Ana Carolina and Jards Macalé.
Born in Curitiba and later moving to Rio de Janeiro, Gulin released her self-titled debut album in 2007. In 2011, she followed up with her sophomore release entitled ôÔÔôôÔôÔ. Then in 2013 she released “Cinema Big Butts,” a quirky single that includes her partial cover of Sir Mix A Lot’s “Baby Got Back.”

Tonight at Lapa Irish Pub, it’s time again for the Portuguese/English Language Exchange. Set up like speed dating, native English speakers will be paired with native Portuguese speaker at tables. The pairs will then speak English for five minutes followed by Portuguese for five minutes. After those ten minutes, each speaker will move on to a new table and conversation partner. It’s both a fun and educational night and the R$10 entrance cost includes free food.
