Tuesday’s Rio Nightlife Pick – Saloon 79 is one of Rio’s best kept secret bars, located in Botafogo. Even though Rio is a city with deep roots in music, there are not too many rocker bars to drink, eat and enjoy the sounds of rock ‘n roll. So, with a very unique decor, showcasing everything from photos of rock legends to album covers and neon signs all around, Saloon 79 is the perfect place in town for all things rock and blues.
The venue sports a wild wild west saloon style architecture, which immediately puts it apart from other venues and bars in Rio. Throw in a pool table and second floor balcony plus a stage for live music and shows, and you have yourself one mighty good original watering hole. Music ranges from rock, to metal, to blues and indie.
