Tuesday’s Rio Nightlife Pick – Ya ‘Ya High Fi gets funky tonight with a special guest appearance from Rio’s own Botafogo Social Club. Two representatives will be showing the good folks of Studio RJ how the gringos get down, playing the best that vinyl has to offer.

Ya ‘Ya High Fi (Arpoador)
Dj Marcelinho da Lua keeps things real at this weekly vinyl only party at Studio RJ, this week welcoming Doug Gray and Jan Roldanus from the Botafogo Social Club. Everyone knows that vinyl is king and therefore must be heard loud and direct. Botafogo Social Club is known for their unique blend of funk & soul, breaks and rare grooves. This night will demonstrate a keen knowledge of good musical taste.

Mini Menos (Humaitá)
DJs Rafael Rm2 and Gustavo Tata continue to provide the best of your Tuesday dose of Doiz. Great music selections by two pros, if you haven’t been to Doiz yet, then you are missing a real treat. A nice blend of bar/restaurant and lounge, this new hotspot is quickly getting rave reviews. With incredibly creative drinks, Doiz is a great way to wind the weekend down or start the week up.

The union of three great friends who had the samba idea to hold an event without leaving their respective groups led the result of Samba di Buteco, with typical Brazilian rhythm.

Bip Bip (Copacabana)
Bip Bip owes its fame to an outstanding musical program. Sunday nights are the best evenings to catch some great samba or pagode. It’s not unusual to see some Brazilian greats such as Beth Carvalho, Nelson Sargento, Walter Alfaiate, and others come out to sing and play.

Pandeiro Repique Duo (Lapa)
Pandeiro Repique Duo is the result of the meeting of these instruments typical of the soul of Rio, the Brazilian percussion. Bernardo Aguiar and Gabriel Policarpo will be put side by side with the virtuosity of the spike extrapolating their regional origins.
