Thursday’s Rio Nightlife Pick – Rock in Rio returns for round two. Besides the headliners, acts worth checking out include Afrika Bambaataa (a huge influence on funk carioca) and house legend “Little” Louie Vega. The early set on the World Stage, with Brazilian rock legends Legião Urbana playing with a symphony orchestra, is also worth making a trip out to the Cidade do Rock in the daylight.

The mega-concert event hosts Stevie Wonder, Jamiroquai, and Ke$ha on the main Palco Mundo (World Stage), with countless others around the City of Rock.

Rio’s answer to Barcelona’s forward-thinking Sónar festival continues with Brazilian urban sound mappers Lise and L_ar.
