Thursday’s Rio Nightlife Pick – Tonight Swedish-American singer Mapei will perform live at the Jockey Club do Rio de Janeiro in Gávea as part of the Village Jockey Club.
Following the success of the premier edition of the event last year during the World Cup, the Village Jockey Club festival began it’s second edition on June 4th. It will continue through Sunday, June 21st with both international and national musicians and bands performing live, as well as parties, food, food trucks and more.
Thus far the festival has hosted American rapper Jeremih, Brazillian DJs Tropkillaz, Brazillian singer Anitta and parties including a special Festa Junina with Preta Gil. Mapei will be the first performer during this, the third and final weekend of the festival.
Known for her hits “Don’t Wait” and “Change,” Mapei was last in Rio de Janeiro state as part of the lineup for the 2014 edition of the Ausländer Musik Festival, in Petrópolis.

Today the Feira Junina de Food Trucks begins at Américas Shopping located in the neighborhood of Recreio Dos Bandeirantes. Running through Sunday, June 21th, the free-entry fair will celebrate the Festa Junina holidays with twenty food trucks and participants including Bibocaft, Burgertopia, Contrabando beertruck, Paris Gourmet Food Truck, Ribz Truck and The Pub Truck, among others.
