Thursday’s Rio Nightlife Pick – B-Side at Prainha Lounge in Lagoa is on tonight with special guest DJs Pedro Mezzonato and Felipe Fella plus Breaking Legs and more. The vinyl only party celebrates the truly awesome power of the vinyl format.
In the music industry, the A-side and B -side are expressions that are associated directly with vinyl records. Historically, the B-side of the discs was composed of different songs and experimental alternatives. Many artists, great composers and singers for example, have stated that the B-side of their vinyls were their true side, their essence. It was said that the A-side of their discs contained the more commercial songs, and the B-side refered to the non-commercial alternative side, offering a bit more of a unique style to their artistry.
