Sunday’s Rio Nightlife Pick – RUN VDG is back at Alto Vidigal, home to probably the best view in all of Rio de Janeiro. Situated at the very top of the Vidigal mountain, Casa Alto Vidigal works not only as a hostel, but also as a prime time party palace.

Tonight is the house’s flagship party RUN VDG, back for its first edition on the new year. RUN VDG has been a success from the get go, featuring some of the best house and tech house music around. Tonight will feature Botafogo Social Club DJ Tee Cardaci, along with RUN VDG residents Mike Frugaletti and Mahara Belgrano.

Carnaval Samba Parade – Special Groups at the Sambadromo (Lapa)
The Special Groups parad is the highlight of the Rio Carnival Season. The must-see show has made Rio de Janeiro the Carnival capital of the world. This incredible show will last tonight and Monday night.

RUN VDG is finally back at the incredible Casa Alto Vidigal for one of the best nights of the Carnaval season. Featuring DJs Mahara Blegrano, Tee Cardaci and Mike Frugaletti playing house and tech house in true style. Enjoy the amazing view on top of the Vidigal mountain.

Rio Music Conference presents Ritchie Hawtin (Gloria)
Detroit techno legend Ritchie Hawtin performs tonight at the Rio Music Conference in the Marina da Gloria. Related to music and technology, Hawtin’s success stems from various projects and productions including his alter ego Plastikman and his label Minus. He will be joined by Mauricio Lopes and the King of Swingers.

Bloco Simpatia e Quase Amor is a continually popular beach-side bloco in Zona Sul (South Zone), gathering thousands of revelers at Praça General Osório to process down the beachfront of Ipanema. Despite this, the bloco is very casual and everyone is invited to join whether in costume or not.
