Saturday’s Rio Nightlife Pick – Mescla is on at La Paz in Lapa, this time showcasing two floors of true underground music. The upstairs floor will be held down by Me Gusta, featuring São Paulo techno DJ and producer Alex Stein. He will be supported by KGB & Roger and Gustavo Tata. Downstairs will be a bit of funk, soul and breaks with guest DJ Trusty and locals Pedro Piu and Ricardo Estrella.

Of German descent, Alex Stein had a natural orientation for electronic music and has released tracks on Sprout, Uniform Recordings, Noise Music, Lo Kik Recordings and many more. Hailing from São Paulo, Trusty is a DJ and visual art innovator, combining both passions to bring the culture to the forefront, with very creative and forward thinking.

Rock in Rio (Barra da Tijuca)
Rock in Rio returns with an incredible lineup that is sure to make it one of the best years to date. Tonight’s lineup features Muse, Florence and the Machine, Viva a Raul Seixas com Detonautas, Zeca Baleiro and Zelia Duncan, Marky Ramone and Michale Graves, The Offspring and many many more.

Ritual: XFit Day Party (Santa Teresa)
House party Ritual has moved locale and will be happening today during the daytime at the Rio Forest Hostel. Residents Andrei Britto and Godi Osegueda invite guest Gian Filippo to join them on the decks as they kick off their new edition at an unbeatable price.

Mescla (Centro)
Mescla is on again and this time at the new underground venue in Lapa simply called La Paz. Me Gusta meets Brazilian Wax for this powerhouse collaboration. On deck for the night is São Paulo techno DJ and producer Alex Stein. Local support from KGB & Roger, Gustavo Tata and downstairs special guest Trusty plus Brazilian Wax and Ricardo Estrella.

Noon (Gávea)
The time is right for the day parties. Noon returns to 00 (Zero Zero) in Gávea, this time around showcasing Crosstown Rebels James What from the UK, with support from Matera, Gustavo MM and Peirão.

Colombian Love and Friendship Day party (Lapa)
The Colombian version of Valentine’s Day will be celebrated at Clube dos Democráticos in the heart of Lapa and is organized by Rumba Tipo Colombia. Expect to shake your hips to all kind of Latin music from salsa over cumbia to reggaeton including live salsa band Los Inmigrantes and try culinary specialties from Colombia.

Festa Barulinho Bom is paying homage to the leader of Legião Urbana, Renato Russo with a cover band that plays dangerously close to the real thing! Also tribute band Seu Bando will pay funky tribute to the one and only Tim Maia, Brazil’s version of Curtis Mayfield.
