tattooSaturday’s Rio Nightlife Pick – Today, Tattoo Week Rio continues with the second day of its third edition at Centro de Convenção Sul América (South America Convention Center) in Centro.

The three-day event features more than 800 tattoo artists working in 200 stalls. There will also be graffiti painting, a freestyle skateboard championship, a cosplay performance, daily contests and a live music performance every night at 11PM.

Tonight Brazilian rocker Pitty will perform. Born Priscilla Novaes Leone, Pitty is a well-known Brazilian rock singer, who was nominated for an MTV EMA (European Music Award) for Best Brazilian Artist of 2014 in November of last year.

Before Pitty takes the stage tonight, the band Autoramas will open the show.

Tattoo Week Rio (Centro)
The third edition of Tattoo Week Rio continues at Centro de Convenção Sul América (South America Convention Center) in Centro today, the second day of the three-day event. Events will include contests and a live performance by Brazilian rocker Pitty at 11PM.

Carnival 2015 Samba School Technical Rehearsals (Santo Cristo)
Tonight two more samba schools head to Sambódromo to hold their technical rehearsals in preparation for their 2015 Carnival parades. Império da Tijuca will hold their practice first at 8PM and Acadêmicos do Cubango will follow at 9:30 PM. Technical rehearsals are free and open to the public. While they do not include full costume and completed floats, they are still a great opportunity to preview each schools parade and to hear their samba-enredo (samba theme song) chosen for this year.

Triple Crown vs. Gop Tun (Arpoador)
The popular CAVE club in Arpoador hosts The Crown Sessions, Triple Crown vs. Gop Tun edition tonight. Triple Crown is a DJ collective featuring Mary Zander, Jonas and Nepal and Gop Tun is São Paulo DJs Gui Scott and Nasci.

Tonight the La Paz Club in Centro will host the PHUNK! party with special guests BNegão Bota Som and Bernardo Oliveira. DJs Artur Miró, Coisa Fina and Saens Peña (AKA filmmaker Emilio Domingos) will spin and VJ Simpla will provide video projections during the night.

Festa Solta (Botafogo)
Tonight it’s time for a special summer edition of the Festa Solta party at Casa da Matriz in Botafogo. Delivering the best of pop, samba, funk, and samba DJs Patrick Gomez, Tomás Tróia and Julie will spin on the first floor while DJs Pinho, Fernando Henri, and Krew Solta spin on the second floor.
