Saturday’s Rio Nightlife Pick – The best place to be from now until Carnival? Any of the samba school rehearsals! We have recommended a couple below so you can get started on your warm up for the Sambódromo. It’s guaranteed fun and loud Brazilian music.

Nuth (Barra da Tijuca)
One of the few venues in Rio with a spacious venue, nice jungle theme, three floors and a pool table. There is also another location in Lagoa so be sure to check them both out.

Stereo Zero (Gávea)
The evening begins with happy hour and full rhythm lounge. As the night progresses, DJs Cobra & José Roberto Mahr, and VJ Isa present new releases and classic remixes of indie rock, pop, new disco, club house and all the variations in between.

Bateria da Grande Rio (Lapa)
In the rhythm of Carnival 2012, Lapa 40º, presents the show from the Rio Grande Battery invoked percussionists battery master Ciça lead percussion instruments such as chimes, tambourines, deaf, boxes, rattles, cuicas, agogo, reco-recos and tambourines.

Clube dos Democráticos (Lapa)
Bringing together the best musicians of Rio de Janeiro, Democráticos promises the time if your life. With artists such as Nina Wirtti & Noites Brasileiras, Os Miltons, and many more. The goal is to present classics of Brazilian music and its roots.

Blue Agave (Copacabana)

Lapa Irish Pub (Lapa)
If you are up for some Irish beer and a nice environment to drink it in, this is the place to go. On Wednesdays you can loosen up by singing some rock ‘n’ roll tunes as it’s Karaoke night.
