Wednesday’s Rio Nightlife Pick – Tonight, Blue Note Rio honors one of the most spectacular voices the jazz music has ever had: the one and only Ella Fitzgerald.

The “First Lady of Song”, or “Queen of Jazz”, became famous worldwide for her unique voice tone and genius improvisation ability.

Starting from 8PM, the show will bring to the stage New Yorker singer Alma Thomas and Brazilian composer Thiago Trajano, who will perform Fitzgerald classic singles, like “Summertime”, How High in the Moon”, “It Don’t Mean a Thing”, among many others.

Jade Baraldo (Ipanema)
Participating in the Creative Act Project, which will gather music and visual arts at Casa Ipanema, the singer Jade Baraldo presents a mixture of electronic and Brazilian indie music tonight. DJ Lela Gomes will be spinning throughout the event.

Tribute to Ella Fitzgerald (Lagoa)
Tonight, Blue Note Rio pays homage to the one and only American jazz queen Ella Fitzgerald. Brazilian composer Thiago Trajano and New Yorker singer Alma Thomas will present the Fitzgerald’s classic singles.
