Wednesday’s Rio Nightlife Pick – The fifth edition of the Novas Frequências experimental music festival continues today and tonight at Casa Rio, Laboratório Agnut, Audio Rebel, and SESC Ginástico.
In Casa Rio, the Interspecifics Collective will present Non-Human Rhythms (MX) as part of the Hacklab from 11AM to 6PM. A Voices de Tunga with Dissonâmbulos performance will take place at the Laboratório Agnut from 3PM to 5PM and Fabio Ghivelder’s exhibition “RECAP” will be on display.
At 4PM Audio Rebel will screen Makino Takashi’s “Phantom Nebula,” and at 8:30PM, King Midas Sound, Juçara Marçal and Cadu Tenório will perform live at SESC Ginástico.

O Club Workout (Arpoador)
The O Club Workout (the Workout Club) returns to Rio’s Cave club in Arpoador tonight for another high energy edition. The Club Workout originated in NYC and arrived in Rio following the success of classes in São Paulo. The event is an aerobic twerk class inspired by pop diva choreography. The class will last approximately one hour. Tonight is a special promotional night with the class costing only R$25 and a package of 10 classes available for R$200.

Tonight Casa da Matriz in Botafogo will host the finale of the VI Concurso de Cantores do Karaokê Indie (Sixth Karaoki Indie Singers’ Competition). In addition to the finale, there will be seven hours of non-competitve singing and there will be two-for-one specials on five drinks; caipirinha, caipivodka, Hi-Fi, Cuba Libre, and mojito.

On Wednesday nights in November, the Leviano bar in Lapa is hosting the Baile do Eletronaipe. The event features the group Eletronaipe and its nine musicians performing the best of pop, funk, rock, and jazz live throughout the night.
