Os Beatlemaníacos @ Mureta Bar (Botafogo) – Os Beatlemaníacos (the Beatlemaniacs) are currently doing a weekly residency at the Mureta Bar in Botafogo, playing tunes by the fab four every Wednesday night.

The band is composed of Mario Vitor on guitar, Pedro Dias on bass and Carol Lima on drums.

LIVE:
Choro da Glória @ Espaço Catete (Glória) – Choro da Glória has relocated and the first edition was a huge success!

So now everybody already knows: Choro da Glória will be partying every Wednesday in Espaço Catete (Rua do Catete 97). And now there’s more choro than before, from 6:30PM to 10:00PM!

The scheme is the same, free entry with spontaneous donations welcome as the musicians hat is passed around the crowd.

For those that haven’t encountered it before, choro (literally ‘cry’), is an instrumental Brazilian genre which originated in 19th century Rio de Janeiro.

Despite its name, the music is both fast and happy and is perfect to dance to, or simply to relax, enjoy a beer, chat with friends and marvel at the exquisite musicianship.

The event is free, starts at 6:30PM and all are welcome!

PARTY:
Latin Party @ Pub Kriok (Lapa) – The original party that brought reggaeton to Rio is always ready to bring the disorder.

The night is free and has an open bar of beer and caipirinha until midnight. What more could a party need?

DJs Slim, Bam Bam and Sany are going to be taking over two floors of Pub Kriok and pumping out some of the finest reggaeton, funk and pop all through the night.

On the first floor will be reggaeton, latin pop, world music, hiphop, pop and much more. On the second floor will be merengue, trance, salsa, funk and a whole lot more Miami-style rhythms.

After midnight there is a two-for-one offer on caipirinha and catuaba. There will be great photographers capturing the magic, LED light shows, excellent air-conditioning over three floors. This is a night that will go on for a long time (eight years running so far).
