LIVE:
Sexteto Sucupira @ Fundição Progresso (Lapa) – Head down to iconic Rio venue Fundição Progresso and experience the forró jazz gypsy sounds of Sexteto Sucupira.

Mixing traditions from various parts of the world with compositions by famous Brazilian composers, this is the perfect music to dance to while mingling with the friendly crowd. Egil DJ will be following the band with the best afrobeat, latin, forró, soul and jazz, sure to keep you on your feet until the early hours.

Tickets are between R$15-R$20 and the night gets going at 8:30PM.

Aula Experimental: Quizomba! @ Circo Voador (Centro) – Here’s a chance to participate in a free trial lesson with one of the most irreverent, musical and exciting blocos to have ever featured in the Rio Carnival.

Preparations are already afoot for Carnival 2020 so why not get involved now? Pick up an instrument and by the time next March arrives, you’ll be an expert!

This event begins at 7:30PM and it is free as long as you sign up.

Dingo Bells @ Sesc (Copacabana) – Taking their influences from Talking Heads, Chic, Neil Young and Tim Maia, Dingo Bells are one of the most exciting bands to emerge from the Southern Brazilian music scene.

Come and watch them play at Sesc in Copacabana and see why everyone’s talking about Dingo Bells and their new album ‘Todo Mundo Vai Mudar.’

Tickets are between R$15 – R$30 and the music starts at 8PM.

Casa Momus (Lapa)
Run by two Italian expats, Momus is worth the visit for its interior design alone. Among this fancy bar’s highlights are its classic Bloody Mary (R$27), Pisco Sour (R$28) and Negroni (R$28).

Straight out of Paris, this boutique hostel and bar has the perfect atmosphere for eating and drinking in style.

Flashback (Ipanema)
Flashback is a high-end restaurant with plenty of classical music and photos decorating the walls. Tonight, between 7 PM and 9 PM, the restaurant will offer a happy hour with two-for-one on caipivodkas and Stella Artois. The caipivodkas are made fresh with lime, strawberry, or passionfruit as well as additional herbs for extra taste.
