Tuesday’s Rio Nightlife Pick – Following the Language Exchange tonight at Lapa Irish Pub, there will be a live jazz session with Miguel Bestard and Larissa Conforto.

The weekly Portuguese/English language exchange is set up like speed dating, native English speakers will be paired up with native Portuguese speaker at tables. The pairs will then speak English for 5 minutes followed by Portuguese for 5 minutes. After those ten minutes, each speaker will move on to a new table and conversation partner.

It’s both fun and educational and the live jazz sessions that follow make this a great idea for a night out.

Negro Leo (Botafogo)
Tonight the group Negro Leo will launch their new album Niños Heroes live at Audio Rebel in Botafogo. The show will be presented by Quintavant / QTV and the album is a QTV release. The group consists of vocalist and guitarist Negro Leo, bassist Felipe Zenicola, drummer Thomas Harres, and guitarist Eduardo Manso.

Matriz Live Sessions with Parola and Severe (Botafogo)
Spotlighting up-and-coming rock bands and musicians while adding some life to typically less than lively Tuesday nights in Rio, the ‘Matriz Live Sessions,’ event is back at Casa da Matriz in Botafogo. Tonight the bands Parola and Severe will perform live.

Pub Crawl Ipanema (Ipanema)
Every Tuesday night Bem Brasil Entretenimento is presenting the Pub Crawl Ipanema, a tour of Rio Nightlife. Beginning at Belmonte Bar in Ipanema (Rua Teixeira de Melo, 53) at 7:20 PM, the tour include stops at three bars and ends at the club, 00 (Zero Zero in Gávea), which hosts the Bem Brasil -The Rio Hostels Party on Tuesdays (see below.) The entry fee to 00 is included with the Pub Crawl price and there will be free caipirinhas in the club until 12AM as part of the party. Additionally, there will be three free shots and a drinking game, during the tour. No booking prior to the tour is needed. The tour happens rain or shine. Attendees must be eighteen and over, so make sure to bring a photo ID.

Bem Brasil – The Rio Hostels Party (Gávea)
The Bem Brasil party is back at 00 (Zero Zero) tonight with live samba from the band Pretensão and DJs JR Mahr and Haron Dufau spinning the best of hip hop, Latin rhythms, reggaeton, cumbia, and kuduro throughout the night. Additionally promotions will include free caipirinhas from 11PM until midnight.

Feel Leblon (Leblon)
The weekly Feel Leblon party is back at Sette Leblon bar and lounge tonight. Promotions include all you can drink caipirinhas until midnight and two for one beers for R$15 all night long. During the event, DJs Jonatan K and Matheus will spin the best of electronica, trap, house, indie rock, funk Carioca, hip hop, reggeaton, and samba. Entry fee is free for women until 12:30 AM.

Tonight singer Késia Estácio will perform live at Carioca da Gema in Lapa. Estácio cites influences including Elis Regina, Djavan, and Chico Buarque, among others, and tonight she will perform the best of MPB, samba, soul and pop. During the show she will be accompanied by bassist Rodrigo Villa, guitarist Gabriel de Aquino, percussionist Thiago da Serrinha, and drummer André Manhães.

Every Tuesday the Leviano bar in Lapa is opening its doors for free jazz nights. Tonight the Joaquim Jazz quatet will perform live and DJ Sandro Black will spin the best of jazz, groove, and funk during show intervals.

Tonight Trapiche Gamboa in Gamboa will once again present a roda de samba and choro with singer-songwriter and instrumentalist Daniel Scisnio.

Mab’s Restaurant and Bar (Copacabana)
This American-owned restaurant and bar on Copacabana Beach is a great place for food, drinks and entertainment. Every night, Tony Boka is performing live from 8PM until 1AM. Boka is known for his varied repertoire that always pleases the crowd.

Shenanigan’s (Ipanema)
With classic pub games like darts and pool, Ipanema’s Shenanigan’s is always a great spot to visit. Happy Hour is dose dupla (two for one) on Mondays through Fridays 6PM-8PM. Additionally, tacos are half-price on Tuesdays. This is another great place to watch live streaming sports.
