The Rio Times, Nightlife Guide, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Nightlife, Bars, Clubs, Parties

We have the top three picks for this Tuesday, and below there is a list of bars and lounges that are always a good option.

LIVE:
José González @ Circo Voador (Lapa) – José González has landed in Brazil this January 2019 for the first time in almost ten years.

The indie-folk singer will hit the stage of the Circo Voador tonight, strumming through a repertoire that will feature tracks from his three albums, ‘Veneer’ (2003), ‘In our nature’ (2007) and ‘Vestiges and Claws’ (2015), including his most famous hit, ‘Heartbeats.’

Doors will open at 9PM and tickets are available from R$80.

DRINKS:
Mundo Lingo @ Jungle Garden Pub (Botafogo) – This Tuesday is the fourth meeting of Mundo Lingo. They call themselves a ‘huge community of locals and internationals that meet every week to chat, meet new people, and practice speaking other languages.’

‘There will be flag stickers from over 150 countries and regions. Your native language goes at the top. The rest follow below in order or ability towards the weakest at the bottom. It’s open to all nationalities and languages and you can talk about anything you like. You don´t have to be an advanced speaker, or even speak a second language – its for all levels!’

Happy Hour is from 7-9PM with a two-for-one offer on caipirinhas. This event is free and starts at 7PM.

LIVE:
Aos Novos Compositores @ Beco do Rato (Lapa) – This cultural project for new composers is an evening where sambistas can present previously unpublished work of their own. This is an exciting evening of live music from some of the best young samba composers in the city.

It takes place twice per month, always on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month. And the event aims to support the local samba music scene by showing works by composers who are not (yet) big samba stars.

The event is free entry and it usually begins at 7PM.

Aos Novos Compositores – Rua Joaquim Silva – Lapa
