PARTY:
Ressaca de Ano Novo @ Casa da Matriz (Botafogo) – Casa da Matriz are holding their very own recovery party for all those with a New Year’s-sized hangover, complete with free sweets distributed for anyone feeling low blood sugar.

For all those looking to get some ‘hair of the dog’ both gin and tonics and caipirinhas will be on offer at two-for-one until 2AM. Artisan choppe beer will be on offer for R$6 and there will also be ping-pong, plus some sparkling wine left over from the big New Year’s toasts. Prepare for lots of rock, hip-hop, latin hits and carioca funk from DJs Ian Garcez, Gabriel Velmont, and Sté Mograbi.

Tickets are available from R$20 and the night gets going at 11PM.

LIVE:
Galocantô @ Beco do Rato (Lapa) – On this Tuesday of the new year, Beco do Rato are inviting the samba group Galocantô to form a traditional ‘Roda da Samba’ (samba circle) and regale the customers with some top-quality traditional Brazilian music.

Tickets are R$20 and the live music should begin at around 6PM.

PARTY:
Dobradinha @ Fosfobox (Copacabana) – For a fun start to 2019, why not head down to one of Rio’s best-loved dancefloors? This Tuesday, Fosfobox are inviting DJ Marlboro, who they are calling ‘the King of Carioca Funk.’

There will, of course, be all the usual deals, such as free pizza, two-for-one on Jagermeister, promotions on caipirinha and Heineken, and plenty of hits courtesy of the Dobradinha team that are sure to get everyone greeting 2019 with a big smile!

Tickets are between R$20-R$50 and the night should get going at 11:30PM.

Blue Agave (Ipanema)
Located just around the corner from Posto 9, Blue Agave in Ipanema is well known for great Mexican food, drinks, and for broadcasting live sports. Additionally, most of the wait staff and crowd speak English.

Dida Bar e Restaurante (Tijuca)
Specialized in Afro-Brazilian and African food, Bar da Dida is a great option for authentic, soulful food one cannot find in any corner. Make sure to try one of its finger food that have already participated in the “Comida di Boteco” contest.
