Thanksgiving Dinner 2014 at the Gringo Cafe

Thursday’s Rio Nightlife Pick – Today is the holiday of Thanksgiving in the United States and Americans in Rio de Janeiro, expatriates from numerous other countries, and Brazilians eager to take part in the holiday will be celebrating in homes and at several venues throughout the city.

Two great options to check out today are the annual American Society of Rio de Janeiro (AmSoc Rio) Thanksgiving Dinner and the annual Gringo Café Thanksgiving Dinner.

The AmSoc Rio Dinner will take place today, beginning at 7:30 PM in the JW Marriott located on Av. Atlântica, 2600 in Copacabana and the menu will include turkey, ham, gravy, cranberry sauce, pumpkin, pecan pie, and more.

Gringo Café will offer its holiday dinner from noon to 11PM tonight. Their menu will include all of the traditional favorites. The Turkey Platter will consist of roasted turkey, with both white and dark meat plus homemade stuffing, mashed potatoes, turkey gravy, sautéed green beans with bacon, and cranberry sauce.

Side portions and take out orders including turkey, gravy, stuffing and pumpkin pie, are also available on the holiday.

Tonight the American Society of Rio de Janeiro (AmSoc Rio) will host its annual Thanksgiving Dinner at the JW Marriott in Copacabana. The menu will include turkey, ham, gravy, cranberry sauce, pumpkin, pecan pie, and more.

Gringo Cafe Thanksgiving Dinner (Ipanema)
Today and tonight, the Gringo Cafe in Ipanema will host its annual Thanksgiving dinner from noon to 11PM. The holiday specials will feature all of the traditional favorites including turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans with bacon, cranberry sauce, and pumpkin pie.

The series of Ocupação Audio Rebel/Quintavant QTV events continues tonight and tomorrow night with Ná Ozzetti and Passo Torto performing live at Sala Funarte Sidney Miller. Passo Torto is a São Paulo quartet and for the performances they will join singer Ná Ozzetti to launch the album, Thiago França.

It’s time for the best of metal as the Imperator Novo Rock event returns to Imperator Centro Cultural João Nogueira with bands Hatefulmurder and Unmasked Brains performing live tonight. The Veneno party is back at Casa da Matriz tonight. For over ten years the weekly events, filled with good music and beautiful people, have helped start weekends early in Rio. Tonight will be no exception as DJs Tulio Araujo and Beto Artista will spin the best of rock and pop on the first floor. On the second floor tonight, the Multiplex Fonix party will take over with DJs Theddy-O, Ricardo Abrahin, Kleber Tuma and guest DJ Guga spinning the best of EBM, post punk, dark electro and more.
