Thursday’s Rio Nightlife Pick – The Rio Times kicks off the second of its “TALKS” series tonight with the Olympic discussion panel at the co-working space DOCA in Ipanema.
The event will feature a panel of experts from three essential Olympics areas of interest to foreigners in Rio: the organization of the games including tickets and transportation, the tourism opportunities for businesses here, and visa information for travelers during the Games.
Brazilian comedian and actor Fernando Caruso will host and emcee the event and guest speakers will include British expatriate Philip Wilkinson, the international media manager for Rio 2016; Roshni Thakker from XperienceRio, a premium travel and tour company based in Rio de Janeiro; and American expatriate Michael Royster, who is a Brazilian lawyer since 1992, and managing partner at Royster Advogados Associados living in Rio for nearly forty years.
Taking place from 7PM to 10PM, the event will feature promotions including Bohemia longnecks for R$5 and glasses of wine or Rekorderlig Cider for R$10. Additionally, there will be small appetizers and snacks provided by partners from the international community.

Tonight Audio Rebel will host the first of two nights of BacaFest 2016, a festival that aims to bring artists, bands, singers, and musicians together on one stage. For opening night, Marcelo Callado and Riko Viana will perform live.

Brazilian singer-songwriter and guitarist Gilberto Gil will perform live at Vivo Rio tonight to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the non-governmental organization Saúde Criança, Gil will perform many of his well-known song including “Aquele Abraço”, “A Paz”, “Vamos Fugir”, and “Andar com Fé”.
