Sunday’s Rio Nightlife Pick – Tonight, the Trad Trio performs at Comuna, youngsters’ favorite bar in Botafogo.

Composed of Marcelo Santos (sax), Pedro Araújo (guitar) and Pablo Arruda (double bass), the trio promises to involve the audience with some swing, hot jazz and dixieland in three different sessions (at 6:30 PM, 8PM and 9PM).

There will be promotions on the artisanal draught beer Trópica Brewing Co, with two per R$20.

Tonight, the Trad Trio will be starring at Comuna. Musicians Marcelo Santos (sax tenor), Pedro Araújo (guitar), Pablo Arruda (double bass) and guests will bring a fine repertoire of swing, hot jazz and dixieland.

Gloriosa (Glória)
Feira da Gloria’s traditional “roda de samba” is back this afternoon, with renowned musician Paulão 7 Cordas and others making the audience sing and dance along with renditions of Wilson Batista, Nelson Cavaquinho, Cartola, Candeia, Dona Ivone Lara, Geraldo Pereira and Noel Rosa. Due to the rain, this Sunday’s roda de samba will happen indoors.

The group Jequitibá do Samba will be bringing a lively samba repertoire to Catete this Sunday’s afternoon, including both contemporary compositions and classic songs from the 1930s.
