Copacabana, Rio de JaneiroSunday’s Rio Nightlife Pick – Today and into the night, Gilda no Cantagalo will celebrate their two year aniversary with a special edition of Salve Bahia. To celebrate, they have the band Seu Fobica and DJs DJ Marcos Nunes and Júlia Salgado playing the best of Brazilian music.

Gilda no Cantagalo is at the top of one of the highest peaks in Copacabana, Morro do Cantagalo. The bar there will be serving a selection of beers and strong caipirinhas from the moment it opens.

Yoga (Aterro do Flamengo)
Instructor Luna Rosa discovered yoga ten years ago and has been a teacher in Rio de Janeiro for the last five years. Today, she will give a free yoga class on the beautiful grounds of Flamengo park. The event is free but attendees can give a donation if desired.

Salve Bahia (Copacabana)
Today and tonight, Gilda no Cantagal will be celebrating their two year anniversary with a special edition of Salve Bahia. To celebrate, they have the band Seu Fobica and DJs DJ Marcos Nunes and Júlia Salgado playing the best of Brazilian music. The views overlooking Copacabana and Ipanema are unbeatable. Please contact the venue for transportation options as caution is always advised before venturing into a favela community.

Rogê (Lapa)
It’s time to dance as singer Rogê returns for his weekly show at Lapa’s Carioca de Gema. In addition to his own work, the lively performer will also bring the classics from Jorge, Jorge Ben, Djavan among others. At 9PM Marcos Novatto will sing an acoustic show to warm up the crowd.

Roda de Samba with Ballet 2 Passistas (Lapa)
Sundays are all about samba at Lapa’s Leviano bar. Every week beginning at 5PM the venue hosts a roda de samba with the group Face a Face playing classics of the genre, including works by Arlindo Cruz, Zeca Pagodinho and João Nogueira, among others. Additionally, DJ Mukato spins during show intervals.

NFL Sunday Party @ Blue Agave (Ipanema)
Every Sunday Blue Agave Ipanema will host the NFL Sunday Party. Just around the corner from Posto 9, Blue Agave Ipanema is also known for its mostly English-speaking staff and the international crowd which frequents the establishment. The night game this evening will be the (7-3) Denver Broncos verses the (7-3) Kansas City Chiefs, kickoff at 11:30 PM in Rio time.
