arpexSunday’s Rio Nightlife Pick – Tonight the Arpex party returns to Barzin Bar and Restaurant in Ipanema.

A weekly event at the venue, the Bem Brasil Entretenimento produced party is well known and loved by many in the city.

Tonight DJ Daniel Faria will spin the best of house, hip hop, and reggaeton and saxophonist Marcelo Cebukin will perform live. Additionally, caipivodkas will be free until 12AM.

It promises to be a great way to end the weekend.

Jazz no Morro (Cantagalo)
Tonight the weekly Jazz no Morro event returns to Gilda in Cantagalo with a special Dia Das Mães (Mother’s Day) edition. Mothers accompanied by their child/children will receive a free welcome drink and can enter the party free. During the night, the collective Superjazz will perform the best of jazz live.

Tonight American progressive metal band Symphony X will perform live at Circo Voador in Lapa.

Ocupa Rebel (Botafogo)
Tonight Audio Rebel in Botafogo will host Ocupa Rebel (Occupy Rebel), an event held in an effort to raise food, cleaning, and hygiene products for schools. Programming will include Chacal, Aori, Aren, Chico Chico, Mihay, Gabriel Muzak, Raquel Coutinho, Jongui, Buiu Beat Box, Duda Brack, and Posada.

Lucy Rose (Lapa)
After opening for Swedish singer-songwriter José González in Circo Voador on Friday night, English singer-songwirter Lucy Rose will present a solo show at Teatro Odisséia in Lapa.

Duo (Gávea)
The twelve-hour Duo party returns to Gávea’s chic 00 (Zero Zero) club tonight with DJs beginning the night at 5PM by spinning the best of house, electro, and pop on the deck. More DJs will follow, spinning inside until 5AM Monday morning.

Roda de Samba and Football with Ballet 2 Passistas (Football) (Lapa)
Sundays are all about samba and soccer at Lapa’s Leviano bar. Every week beginning at 5PM the venue plays live games on their screens with samba dancers following the matches and the group Samba Di Buteco playing classics of the genre, including works by Arlindo Cruz, Zeca Pagodinho and João Nogueira, among others. Additionally, DJ Mukato will spin during show intervals.
