Ana Bispo @ A Garagem (Centro) – See top samba star Ana Bispo singing the best from the Brazilian songbook at one of central Rio’s liveliest and most informal spaces.

You can dance to Bispo’s stirring renditions of Brazil’s legendary female sambistas, while she’s accompanied by the five-piece samba troupe Samba da Garagem.

This performance costs R$5, and it starts at 5 PM.

Fórum de Performances Negras @ Teatro Odisséia (Lapa) – This weekend has seen Rio’s first forum of black performances take place at the prestigious Museu de Arte do Rio (Rio Art Museum or MAR).

Now you can join the closing party, which promises to be huge, featuring poetry, graffiti-art, video projections, and DJs. You can also witness some of the performances themselves, by artists such as Tarso Gentil, Lívia Prado, Tatiana Henrique, Luiza Loroza, Macario, and Eliete Miranda.

Tickets are between R$10-R$20 and the night starts at 7 PM.

Beatles Num Céu de Diamantes @ Theatro NET Rio (Copacabana) – This musical extravaganza, successfully touring for over a decade, returns to Copacabana tonight as a special Sunday treat for all those Beatles lovers out there.

Through several small stories and dreamlike situations, eight actor-singers and three musicians will present you all the classic songs, sung in English, from one of the most magical songbooks of the twentieth century.

Tickets are between R$25 – R$105 and the show starts at 5 PM.
