El Miraculoso Samba Jazz (Urca)
Weather permitting, the group El Miraculoso Samba Jazz will return to perform live at Urca’s Praia Vermelha today. Consisting of Henrique Vaz on trumpet; Marcos Luz on bass; Gabriel Barbosa on drums; and Jefferson Moreira on guitar, the quartet are known for great live performances. Sundays are all about samba and soccer at Lapa’s Leviano bar. Every week beginning at 5PM the venue plays live games on their screens with samba dancers following the matches and the group Samba Di Buteco playing classics of the genre, including works by Arlindo Cruz, Zeca Pagodinho and João Nogueira, among others.
