MonoblocoSunday’s Rio Nightlife Pick – Although the Carnival holiday may have officially ended on Wednesday, February 10th, many blocos (street parties) have been held during the days since and will continue throughout the day today.

The biggest bloco today will be the popular Monobloco. An estimated 400,000 people are expected to join the parade this morning and afternoon.

Beginning at 9AM, Monobloc will parade from Rua Primeiro De Março down Av. Presidente Antonio Carlos to Rua Araújo Porto Alegre in Centro.

An estimated 400,000 people will parade from Rua Primeiro De Março down Av. Presidente Antonio Carlos to Rua Araújo Porto Alegre.
When: 9AM-3PM

Tô No Recreio Com A Confraria (Recreio)
Approximately 30,000 people are expected to parade from Avenida Lucio Costa near Posto 10 (Post 10) to Posto 9 (Post 9).
When: 3PM-6PM

Tamo Junto In Folia (Padre Miguel)
An estimated 50,000 people will parade from Rua Marechal Marciano down Santana De Ipanema and Rua Professor Alfredo Costa and then return to Rua Marechal Marciano, where the parade began.
When: 4PM-8PM

Galinha Do Meio-Dia (Ipanema)
An estimated 5,000 people will pararde fromfrom Avenida Vieira Souto to Henrique Dumont near Posto 8 (Post 8).
When: 4PM-7PM

Singer Laura Lavieri will perform live at Audio Rebel in Botafogo tonight. Lavieri will by joined by Diogo Strausz, Patrick Laplan, and João Erbetta during the show.

Sette Zouk (Leblon)
Tonight Sette Leblon will host an after Carnaval edition of the Sette Zouk party. During the night, Arkkanjo and Thiagão will deliver the best of Zouk upstairs while DJs spins the best of hip hop, house, funk, sertanejo, and salsa downstairs. Promotions will include two-for-one specials on beer and caipirinhas until 11PM.

Soda Carnaval (Copacabana)
It’s time for the best of pop and b-sides as the Soda party returns to Fosfobox in Copacabana tonight. DJs will spin on two stages and promotions will include two-for-one specials on Screwdrivers for R$20 and specials on #DrinkSoda (a drink with rum, soda, and mojito syrup) for R$10 each.

Duo (Gávea)
It’s time once again for the best of house, electro, and pop as the twelve-hour Duo party returns to Gávea’s chic 00 (Zero Zero) club. DJs will start the party tonight by spinning on the deck beginning at 5PM. Then beginning at 12AM, more DJs will follow, spinning inside on the dancefloor until 5AM Monday morning.

Roda de Samba and Football with Ballet 2 Passistas (Football) (Lapa)
Sundays are all about samba and soccer at Lapa’s Leviano bar. Every week beginning at 5PM the venue plays live games on their screens with samba dancers following the matches and the group Samba Di Buteco playing classics of the genre, including works by Arlindo Cruz, Zeca Pagodinho and João Nogueira, among others. Additionally, DJ Mukato will spin during show intervals.

It’s time to dance as singer-songwriter Rogê returns to Lapa’s Carioca de Gema to perform his own lively compositions as well as covers of works by Jorge, Jorge Benjor, and Djavan, among others. Marcos Novatto will perform to open the night tonight.

Karaokê Indie @ Saloon 79 (Botafogo)
Tonight Saloon 79 will host a special edition of the Karaokê Indie (Indie Karaoke) party. Promotions will include two-for-one specials on Hi-Fi and Cuba Libre for R$18 all night long. Additionally, Budweiser, Heineken and Stella Artois will be R$9.50 each all night.
