Sunday’s Rio Nightlife Pick – This evening, a show dedicated to famous Brazilian composer Baden Powell takes place at Instituto Moreira Salles in Gávea at 6PM.
One of the greatest composers and guitar players Brazil has ever known, Baden Powell is notorious for having mixed jazz music to Brazilian traditional rhythms, especially in the “Afrosambas” album, created in 1990 in partnership with composer Vinicius de Moraes.
Running the show will be singer Thaís Motta and guitar player Marcell Powell, Baden Powell’s son.
