Sunday’s Rio Nightlife Pick – Tonight it’s time once again for the best of house, electro, and pop as the Duo party returns to the chic indoor/outdoor Gávea venue 00 (Zero Zero).
The weekly twelve-hour party will begin around 5PM tonight with DJ Julius Diniz spinning outside on the deck.
DJs Pedro Whitaker, Dri Toscano, and Leo Gattuso will follow, spinning inside throughout the night until 5AM Monday morning.

Cine Daros no Pátio, “Uma História de Amor e Fúria” (Botafogo)
The free animated film screening series Cine Daros no Pátio draws to a close tonight at the Casa Daros museum with a screening of the 2013 Brazilian film “Uma História de Amor e Fúria” (Rio 2096: A Story of Love and Fury). Directed by Luiz Bolognesi, the film features the voices of actors Selton Mello as Immortal Warrior; Camila Pitanga as Janaína; and Rodrigo Santoro as Piatã. The film explores Brazil’s past including its colonization, periods of slavery and military rule as well as depicting an imagined future six hundred years from now where water is scarce. The film will be screened it its original language (Portuguese).

Sleeping with Sirens (Lapa)
Tonight the American rock band Sleeping with Sirens will perform live at Circo Voador in Lapa. Formed in 2009, the band currently consists of members Kellin Quinn, Justin Hills, Gabe Barham, Jack Fowler, and Nick Martin. The group has released four studio albums, With Ears to See and Eyes to Hear, Let’s Cheers to This, Feel, and their most recent release, Madness.

Sundays are all about samba and soccer at Lapa’s Leviano bar. Every week beginning at 5PM the venue plays live games on their screens with a live performance following the matches.
