zombie walkMonday’s Rio Nightlife Pick – Today is Dia de Finados (Day of the Dead) and that means the dead will walk among us as the Zombie Walk returns to Rio.

This will be the walk’s 9th edition. It’s a public event and all are welcome. Make sure to dress as a zombie and come hungry for brains.

The group will meet at 2PM in front of Copacabana Palace. At 3PM the walk will begin and the undead will make their way to the beach in Arpoador.

Antibandeira Experimental Fest (Botafogo)
Tonight Audio Rebel in Botafogo will host the Antibandeira Experimental Fest. Natural Nihilism, Jesus Cremoso, Al revés, A Espiral de Bukowski, and Cadu Tenório will perform live.

The ninth edition of the Zombie Walk returns to Rio today beginning at 2PM.

Rio Boat Club (Lapa)
The one and only Rio Boat Club is back tonight will a special Halloween/Dia de Finados edition. Presented every Monday by Bem Brasil Entretenimento, the boat party is one of the most traditional in the city. The night will begin at 11PM with a happy hour that lasts until midnight. During happy hour drinks are free for women and there will be two-for-one specials for men. The boat will then leave the Marina at 12:30 AM. DJs Ricardo Martins and Bruno Lima will spin the best of house, hip hop, pop, Brazilan funk and reggation as the boat makes its way around the Bay with beautiful views of o Pão de Açucar, Cristo, Museu de Arte Contemporânea and the Rio-Niterói bridge.

Roda de Samba with Rixxa (Lapa)
For a great night of dancing and singing, head to Lapa’s Carioca da Gema. The venue will come alive at 9:30 PM with vocalist Rixxa, accompanied by brilliant percussionists and members of the Zeca Pagodinho band, providing three hours of lively samba.

Lunes Sessions @ Leviano (Lapa)
On Monday nights in November, the Leviano bar in Lapa is presenting Lunes Sessions with the band Clandestinos, led by singer-songwriter Udi Fagundes, performing their covers of works by Manu Chao, Chico Science, Jorge Benjor, and Bob Marley as well as original arrangements of the best of reggae, dub, ska, and hip-hop.
