LIVE:
Sofar Rio @ Mystery Location (Glória) – Sofar (Songs from a room) Sounds is a project that presents the magic of live music through intimate shows put on in unusual environments.

It’s a unique event where participants can enjoy an experience full of good music, while also getting in close proximity to the musicians, finding new places in the city and also enjoying the experience of a real surprise while in the comfort of a crowd of like-minded people.

Sofar Sounds performs secret surprise shows. They do not release the identity of the bands or performers before the event. The address of the location is only revealed 48 hours prior to the event and only to confirmed participants.

This Sofar Sounds event will be starting at 7PM in the neighborhood of Glória, with three to five bands or artists each playing a set of around twenty minutes. Tickets are priced at R$35.

PARTY:
I Hate Mondays @ Fosfobox (Copacabana) – This is the party for those who don’t want the weekend to end, or are already fed up with the week! I Hate Mondays at Fosfobox is the best party on a Monday, always bringing a killer line up of DJs and the latest tunes that will all but make you forget what day it is.

The line-up for tonight will feature DJ sets from Febem, Marginal Men, Shavozo, DJ Moniki, Ingrid Nepomuceno, Schlaepfer, Kenya, and Bia Marques.

Tickets are between R$20 – R$50 and the night begins at 11PM.

Hamilton de Holanda @ Theatro NET Rio (Copacabana) – Hamilton de Holanda returns to Theatro Net Rio this Monday to present his new work, ‘Eu e Vocês,’ (Me and You).

Whether it’s jazz, samba, rock, pop or choro, it does not matter to Hamilton Holanda, who has earned the nickname of ‘the Jimi Hendrix of the Mandolin.’

Tickets are between R$60 – R$160 and the performance should get going at 9PM.

Winehouse (Botafogo)
Winehouse is a wine bar run by a British expat that has brought an eclectic range of wines to Rio including a mix of fabulous national wines and international favorites. There is also a great selection of nibbles and cheese boards. For those who aren’t too keen on wine, there is plenty of beer and cocktail options too. Happy hour begins at 6PM and finishes at 8PM.

Pavão Azul (Copacabana)
Pavão Azul is a lively bar in Copacabana, famous for its exceptionally cold beers and prawn pastels. It gets crowded there every night, making every day of the week seem like the weekend.

Blue Agave Copa (Copacabana)
As well as great drinks and authentic Mexican food, the Blue Agave bar in Copacabana is one of the best places to watch live sports. Make sure to check out the original Blue Agave located in Ipanema also.

Shenanigan’s (Ipanema)
With classic pub games like darts and pool, Ipanema’s Shenanigan’s is always a great spot to visit. Monday to Friday, Happy Hour is from 6PM to 8PM and Mondays are half-price steak nights starting at 8PM.

Nosso (Ipanema)
Located in a charming house at Maria Quitéria Street, its sophisticated drinks and dishes are undoubtedly worth a try. You will also enjoy Nosso if you are a rum lover: their rum drinks, with labels from Cuba and Jamaica, are the house specialties.
