We have the top three picks for this Monday, and below there is a list of bars and lounges that are always a good option.

PARTY:
I Hate Mondays @ Fosfobox (Copacabana) – This is the party for those who don’t want the weekend to end, or are already fed up with the week! I Hate Mondays at Fosfobox is the best party on a Monday, always bringing a killer line up of DJs and the latest tunes that will all but make you forget what day it is.

The line-up for tonight is Fernando Schlaepfer, Mílian DOLLA, UBUNTO, Ingrid Nepomuceno, Luiza Laura, and Barbie Marley.

Tickets are between R$20 – R$50 and the night begins at 11PM.

LIVE:
Uma Noite em Harmonia @ Theatro Municipal (Centro) – The Brazilian Symphony Orchestra will be on the stage of the Municipal Theater of Rio de Janeiro, under the leadership of Lee Mills, with a special Christmas program entitled ‘Uma Noite em Harmonia’ (A Night in Harmony).

There will be renditions of famous Christmas classical tunes from the likes of Tchaikovsky’s ‘The Nutcracker,’ Prokofiev and Strauss, among many others.

Tickets are between R$5-R$70 and the performance should start at 8PM.

PARTY:
Baila Me @ Pub Kriok (Lapa) – To get into the holiday spirit, Baila Me are putting on a party packed with baile funk, reggaeton and all the latest pop hits.

DJ Slim and DJ Beta will be supplying the tunes, and there are free caipirinhas until 1AM! Entry is free with your name on the event wall, or otherwise it’s R$20. The party usually gets underway at 11PM.

LOUNGES, BARS & PUBS:

Winehouse (Botafogo)
Winehouse is a wine bar run by a British expat that has brought an eclectic range of wines to Rio including a mix of fabulous national wines and international favorites. There is also a great selection of nibbles and cheese boards. For those who aren’t too keen on wine, there is plenty of beer and cocktail options too. Happy hour begins at 6PM and finishes at 8PM.

Pavão Azul (Copacabana)
Pavão Azul is a lively bar in Copacabana, famous for its exceptionally cold beers and prawn pastels. It gets crowded there every night, making every day of the week seem like the weekend.

Blue Agave Copa (Copacabana)
As well as great drinks and authentic Mexican food, the Blue Agave bar in Copacabana is one of the best places to watch live sports. Make sure to check out the original Blue Agave located in Ipanema also.

Shenanigan’s (Ipanema)
With classic pub games like darts and pool, Ipanema’s Shenanigan’s is always a great spot to visit. Monday to Friday, Happy Hour is from 6PM to 8PM and Mondays are half-price steak nights starting at 8PM.

Nosso (Ipanema)
Located in a charming house at Maria Quitéria Street, its sophisticated drinks and dishes are undoubtedly worth a try. You will also enjoy Nosso if you are a rum lover: their rum drinks, with labels from Cuba and Jamaica, are the house specialties.
