We have the top three picks for this Friday, and below there is a list of bars and lounges that are always a good option.

PARTY:
YONCÉ Party @ Espaço Acústica (Centro) – For the Queen Bee’s birthday, here’s another edition of Yoncé Party, the largest Beyoncé party in Brazil.

There will be cake, lots of music, dancing and plenty more for the whole hive.

The first dancefloor will be playing exclusively Beyoncé, Destiny’s Child and R’n’B – with DJ Lupine and DJ Cortez manning the decks.

The second dancefloor will be spinning funk and hip hop with DJ Viny Moreira plus special guest.

Tickets are between R$10-R$35 and the night begins at 11:30PM.

YONCÉ Party – Praça Tiradentes, nº 2 – Centro

LIVE:
Dead Fish @ Circo Voador (Lapa) – The most visceral band of Brazilian hardcore music will be invading Lapa’s Circo Voador with its heavy noise and wild mosh pits.

Celebrating over 25 years and still going strong, the band also will be playing plenty of material from their upcoming album.

Dead Fish will also be supported by New Day Rising and Meu Funeral.

Tickets are between R$40-R$100 and the show begins at 10PM.

PARTY:
Sexta @ Woods (Leblon) – ‘What happens at Woods, stays at Woods.’ is the tagline, so prepare for a wild night at Leblon’s premier nightclub.

Featuring a live performance from rising Sertanejo star Ruan Mansur plus a DJ set from DJ Gustavo Maia, this promises to be a fun filled evening.

Tickets are between R$30-R$40 and the evening begins at 11PM.

LOUNGES, BARS & PUBS:

Winehouse (Botafogo)
Winehouse is a wine bar run by a British expat that has brought an eclectic range of wines to Rio including a mix of fabulous national wines and international favorites. There is also a great selection of nibbles and cheese boards. For those that aren’t too keen on wine, there is plenty of beer and cocktail options too. Happy hour begins at 5PM and finishes at 8PM.

Void/House of Food (Botafogo)
Blending culinary, drinks and fashion, the bar/store invites a different chef to prepare a new menu every week. Besides great imported beer labels, it usually serves delicious veggie food and homemade burgers.

Pavão Azul (Copacabana)
Pavão Azul is a lively bar in Copacabana, famous for its exceptionally cold beers and prawn pastels. It gets crowded there every night, making every day of the week seem like the weekend.

Canastra Bar (Ipanema)
The Canastra Wine Bar in Ipanema offers a great selection of wines and cheeses and is quickly becoming known for its nice atmosphere and friendly service.

Blue Agave (Ipanema)
Blue Agave Ipanema is always a great place for Mexican food, drinks and for watching live sport streams and broadcasts. Just around the corner from Posto 9, the bar is also known for its mostly English-speaking staff and crowd which frequents the establishment. Be sure to check out Blue Agave in Copacabana also for a great night out.
