Friday’s Rio Nightlife Pick – Tonight Brazilian MC, Emicida returns to Rio de Janeiro to perform live in Circo Voador. During the show tonight, Emicida will present his second album Sobre Crianças, Quadris, Pesadelos e Lições de Casa (About Children, hips, Nightmares and House Lessons).
A São Paulo native, Emicida was born Leandro Roque de Oliveira and began using the stage name Emicida, a combination of Portuguese words for MC (Emcee) and homicide or murderer (homicida), as he worked his way up through the São Paulo’s hip-hop ‘battle’ scene.
He released his first album O Glorioso Retorno de Quem Nunca Esteve Aqui (The Glorious Return of Someone Who Was Never Here) in 2013. Additionally he has releasesed two EPs, mixtapes, and multiple singles. His hits include “Triunfo“, “Hoje cedo”, “Levanta e anda”, “Passarinhos” and “Zóião. ”

Festival Multiplicidade (Gávea)
The final weekend of the 2015 edition of Festival Multiplicidade continues today at Fundação Planetário (Foundation Planetarium) in Gávea. During the day, Muti Randolph and Bruno Palazzo will perform their multimedia installation. DJ Andrea Gram, one of the first Brazilian women to spin electronic music, will present a special set with Muti Randolph providing visuals beginning at 9PM. Then beginning at 10PM, Randolph will also partner with Danish artist Rumpistol for a presentation with 3D projections.There will also be film screenings throughout the day in the cúpula Galileu Galillei beginning at 11AM and food trucks will be parked outside of the planetarium beginning at 7PM.
