Friday’s Rio Nightlife Pick – Tonight, The Mansion Rio in Santa Teresa will host the Bal Masque party in celebration of the first official day of carnival.

There will be a premium open bar until 11:30 PM that includes champagne veuve clicquot, premium vodka drinks, gin&tonic and beer. Live music will be brought to the venue by John Failly, Lorenzo Caliento, Mea Bass band, and Mary Lou.

Carmelitas (Santa Teresa)
One of Rio’s most popular and favorite blocos, sporting a traditional bloco style, should see around 10,000 revelers in the bohemian hillside.

Rola Preguiçosa – Tarda Mas Não Fala (Ipanema)
A popular bloco that starts later than most – a good option for a later night bloco after the day parties, with an expected 30,000 parading trhough the heart of Ipanema.

Morro Por Amor (Vidigal)
Tonight, Alto Vidigal host promise a night dedicated to single people, as in what they say is carnival-style, yet couples are welcome. The point of the night is to spread love and have fun. There will be plenty of Hip Hop, House, Deep, Rap, Sertanejo, Mpb, Pop, Carnival beats and of course, plenty of Carioca funk. Promotions will include two shots for one on caipirinhas until 1AM.

20 anos ligando o Foda-se (Botafogo)
Tonight, Bar Bukowski will host the 20 anos ligando o Foda-se party. As a special treat, the entrance is free for all guests until 1AM. Expect a night of plenty of rock ‘n’ roll.

Pra que Juizo? (Gávea)
Tonight, Palaphita will host the Pra Que Juizo? party. There will be an open bar of beer and vodka combos between 9PM and 11PM. There will also be live DJs bringing the best of hip hop, black, trap and other genres.

Blue Agave Ipanema (Ipanema)
Blue Agave Ipanema is always a great place for Mexican food, drinks and for watching live sport streams and broadcasts. Just around the corner from Posto 9, the bar is also known for its mostly English-speaking staff and the mostly English-speaking crowd which frequents the establishment. Be sure to check out Blue Agave in Copacabana also for a great night out.
