cityandcolorFriday’s Rio Nightlife Pick – Tonight at Circo Voador, City and Colour will perform live. After last year thrilling fans with their first show in Rio de Janeiro, the City and Colour is back in town with a tour of their newest album “If I Should Go Before You.”

Now Dallas Green chose the Circo Voador to make one more memorable performance on Friday, April 29th, at the Circo Voador stage. The gates open at 9PM. The show will be part of the South American leg of his ongoing tour in support of the new album.

Green will perform in São Paulo on April 26th and 27th before arriving in Rio. Following the Circo Voador show, he will head to Belo Horizonte for a show there on the 30th.

Pub Crawl Lapa Loca (Lapa)
Tonight it’s time again for the Pub Crawl Lapa Loca. The meeting point to begin the crawl is at Rua Mem de Sá, 55 from 10:30PM to 11PM. There will then be an open bar from 11:10PM to 12:10AM at Bar da Cachaça. Then from 12:20AM to 1AM there will be free entry at the next location and one free shot of tequila or caipirinha. The crawl will then arrive at 1:20AM at its final stop at Bar da Boa for the Lapa Loca party. Entry to that party will be free and pub crawlers will receive one free caipirinha.

Sorveteria do Rock! 4 Years (Botafogo)
The Sorveteria do Rock party celebrates its fourth anniversary tonight at Casa da Matriz in Botafogo. DJs Marcus WR, Pilar Garcez, Suirá and guests will spin the best of classic rock on the first floor and indie rock and pop punk on the second floor during the night. Alcoholic brigadeiros will be distributed to the first fifty people to arrive and promotions will include two-for-one specials on caipirinhas until 1AM.

Tonight Barzin in Ipanema presents Baile Carioca with Wendell and Rafael performing live and DJ Bruno Rebello spinning the best of pop, hip-hop, funk, and samba rock. Caipirinhas will be free until 12AM.

Galeria do Samba will start the night at Rio Scenarium at 8PM with the best of samba including their reinterpretations of works by Jorge Aragão, Zeca Pagodinho, Benito Di Paula, and Arlindo Cruz, among others. Dilma Diva will follow at 8:30PM will the best of bossa nova, sambas de raiz, marchinhas, and MPB. Then at 11PM, Boemia Carioca will perform traditional samba. Finally at 3AM, SertãoFulô will perform the best of forró.

Lapafest (Lapa)
It’s time again for Lapafest at Leviano bar tonight. Singer Lucas de Moraes will start off the night by performing his reinterpretations of works by Zeca Pagodinho, Jorge Aragão, and Clara Nunes, among others. The bloco Picada de Primeira will then perform the best of samba, MPB, soul, and samba reggae. On the second floor during the night, the power trio Johnny’s will perform the best of international pop rock. Additionally during the night, DJs Chicote and Ailton Areas will spin the best of samba, sambalançco, funk, hip hop and electronic during show intervals. Caipirinhas will be free for all until 12AM.

Tonight Saloon 79 in Botafogo will host the Loki’n’Roll party. DJ Wagner Fester will spin the best of classic rock, 70s hard & heavy rock, 70s and 80s heavy metal, garage rock, and punk. Shots of Jack Daniels will be distributed to the first fifty people to arrive and Hidromel will be distributed throughout the night. Additionally, the band Casanova will perform live during the party.
