Friday’s Rio Nightlife Pick – Tonight at Oi Futuro Ipanema the Sonoridades festival returns for its fourth edition. Every Friday and Saturday night during the month of November, the venue will host shows as part of the festival.
Tonight, Baianasystem with guests Karol Conka and Márcio Victor will perform as the first of two festival shows they will play this weekend.
BaianaSystem have performed around the world at various venues and as part of numerous festivals. Rapper Karol Conka is an upcoming talent originating from Curitiba, Brazil, who has been making a name for herself around the world during recent shows abroad. Márcio Victor is the founder of the band Psirico, well known for their major hit entitled “Lepo Lepo.”

Quiz Night Rio @ Gringo Café (Ipanema)
After a brief break for Halloween, Quiz Night Rio is back at the Gringo Café in Ipanema tonight. The events are fashioned after Irish and English bar social events with the night featuring four to ten rounds of questions about Brazilian and International general knowledge. Teams of two to six players compete to answer the most questions correctly to win a weekly prize. Before Quiz Night Rio at Gringo Café, Quizmaster Oracle Stephen successfully led the event in Natal, RN for over two years.So, assemble your teams and get ready for two hours of trivia, socializing and fun. To celebrate the event’s return, the charge to play is only R$5 per person tonight.

Curta Cinema 2014
The Curta Cinema 2014 festvial continues today with free screenings of over 250 short films from 31 countries. The screenings are taking place throughout the city in venues including Estação Botafogo, Centro Cultural Justiça Federal (CCJF), Cinemaison and Escola de Artes Visuais do Parque Lage. Spanish choreographers Jorge Dutor and Guillem Mont de Palol will again present their work “#LosMicrófonos” at 3PM and 9PM at Espaço Cultural Municipal Sérgio Porto in Humaitá and French choreographers Maguy Marin, David Mambouch and Benjamin Lebreton will present their work “Singspiele” at the Teatro Municipal Carlos Gomes in Centro at 7PM as part of the ongoing Panorama Festival 2014.

The first Rio edition of the Feira na Rosenbaum continues at Espaço Redentor in Ipanema today with exhibitors showcasing the finest jewelry, clothing, accessories and home decor. Curated by famous Brazilian designers, Cristiane Rosenbaum and Marcelo Rosenbaum, fair exhibitors also include Zizi Carderalli, Sergio Matos, Mercatto Casa, Heloisa Galvão, Cynthia Gavião, Evelyn Tannus, Fetiche Design, Oferenda Objetos, and Paula Mourão, among others.
