Friday’s Rio Nightlife Pick – Orquestra Voadora is back together tonight in Lapa at Circo Voador to commemorate the release of their first album “Ferro Velho”.

Born in 2008, the band consists of a variety of brass players and percussionists who play a unique blend of top Brazilian hits and world popular music. Their musical playlist includes Stevie Wonder, FelaKuti, Os Mutantes, Roberto Carlos, Tom Morello and even Michael Jackson. The band has proven to be a big hit, having toured all over Brazil and Europe. Their last Carnaval appearance in February 2013 brought together more than 80,000 people.

Wear comfortable shoes, because its hard to stand still when this band is playing.

Orquestra Voadora returns to the stage tonight to celebrate the release of their first album. The big brass band is known for their innovative arrangements of classics Brazilian and world popular music. Having toured all over Brazil and recently Europe, their unique sound has captured crowds hearts and adoration, constantly selling out show after show.
