Friday’s Rio Nightlife Pick – O Rappa is a multi- Latin Grammy nominated Brazilian band from Rio de Janeiro. They blend many styles such as rock, reggae, funk, hip hop and samba. O Rappa’s songs contain sharp protests against the social problems occurring in Brazil and the members of the band themselves are supporters of numerous social projects.

Tonight the band returns to Circo Voador, home to many epic shows from the band. Expect to hear the hits from “The Fair”, “My Soul (The Peace I Do not Want)” and covers explosives as “Hey Joe.” They are releasing a new album, titled “O Rappa- Live,” which will highlight their funky, dubbed out sound along with their influential and political fueled lyrics.

O Rappa is one of the biggest and most recognized names in Brazilian music today. With their variety of sounds including dub, reggae and rock, the band has shared the stage with some of the top names in the industry such as Foo Fighters and Black Sabbath. The boys return to Circo Voador tonight for a special show.

A Festa da Revista DJ Sound (Gávea)
The Beautiful People Club present A Festa da Revista DJ Sound, one of the biggest electronic music magazines in Brazil, with a special lineup featuring The Altruists, winner of best live performance in 2012. Support also from Da Cat of Pacha, Fernando Voight and Jorge Kiiver.
