RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – This weekend, September 9th and 10th, the Quinta da Boa Vista park, in São Cristovão, Zona Norte, will host the Gastro Beer Rio fair. Besides the diverse culinary and artisanal beer stalls, the 12th edition of the event will promote cultural attractions from 12PM to 8PM.
One of the biggest beer events in Rio’s state, this Gastro Beer Rio’s edition will gather 35 beer brands and a hundred different beer types, including both new and traditional artisanal labels.
Some well-reputed brands from other parts of Brazil will participate in a Carioca beer fair for the first time, like the Tupiniquim, an awarded brewery from Porto Alegre, in the country’s south.
What’s more, Gastro Beer Rio will dedicate a specific venue for 18 breweries that are only one year old or younger. There, the audience can try recently created labels like Brewpoint, QuattroAmici and Kumpel.
Hoping to please diverse beer lovers, the fair will promote games, draught beer contests and a beer tour. Besides the participation of renowned brands, like Botto Bier, Noi, Invicta and Paulistânia, the Dog Beer, a malt-based liquid snack for dogs, will also be present at the event.
“The idea is to promote a pleasant environment for the exchange of beer experiences, offering from the latest brands in the market to the audience’s favorites”, says Ana Paula Gomes, director of AAposta, Gastro Beer Rio’s organizing company.
Also being a culinary fair, the event will bring fifty food trucks to Quinta da Boa Vista, including Yámã Burger Vibration’s burgers, inspired in the Jamaican culture, Yolo’s vegan and traditional hot dogs, BerlinerHaus’ German food, Dona Coxinha’s Brazilian coxinha and Maria Fouet’s sweets.
The cultural line up will be run by clowns, street musicians and artists, who will perform during the entire event. There will also be activities for children happening at the venue, like story-telling, games and puppet’s theater.
