Brazilian and Chilean Win Latin American ‘Just Dance’ Competition

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Brazilian Tiago Silva, 23, and Chilean Taina Arancibia, 21, were the winners of the first Latin American competition of the “Just Dance” game, which took place on Saturday evening, October 17th. Broadcast live on the internet, the event began with a concert by the band Olodum, playing from Salvador.

Because of the Covid-19 pandemic, each finalist performed from home – the screen showed the two competitor’s cameras, alongside the iconic and colorful avatars of the dance game franchise.

There were 12 participants in this last round of the competition, coming from six countries – Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru.

A partnership between Ubisoft game developer, and M. A. C cosmetics brand, the Just Dance M. A. C Challenge was the first Latin American official “Just Dance” competition.

Felipe Titto and Nyvi Estephan hosted the live broadcast directly from a studio in São Paulo. Among the judges were the influential Mandy Candy and the dancers Sheila Mello and Jéssika Mendonça. Other famous faces also featured, giving tips and commenting on the performances, such as Yudi Tamashiro, Pedro Ottoni, Bibi Tatto and Jon Vlogs.
