Wired Festival Brasil 2019 Takes Place in Rio de Janeiro Next Week

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – To inspire and encourage reflection, talks, lectures, workshops and round tables with national and international experts are part of a challenging program, which also has space for disruptive and technological experiences with the public. Organized by O GLOBO newspaper and Globo Condé Nast Editions, the publication’s event that is a reference in innovation and technology will include international speakers such as the American Sana Amanat, content and character development editor, one of the main people responsible for developing the new Marvel comics aesthetics.

Celia Hodent, PhD in Psychology and specialist in games user interface, who worked on the development of the successful game Fortnite; the Dutch Arnold van Huis, professor at the University of Wageningen, who advocates the inclusion of insects in food; and the English Gareth Nettleton, vice president of marketing of Strava, which develops the Strava Metro, an intelligence service that contributes to the optimization of urban mobility, will also be present.

Among the national attractions are Ricardo Dias, vice-president of marketing of Ambev and one of the creators of CreativeX, winner of the first Wired festival in the country; Erick Brêtas, director of Digital Products & Services of Grupo Globo; Fernanda Lobão, CEO of Final Level, who will tell how to convert video games into a lifestyle; Guilherme Melles, responsible for the profile Quebrando o Tabu (Breaking the Taboo); Tai Nalon, from Aos Fatos (To the Facts); and Sônia Bridi, from TV Globo; who will debate fake news and the era of misinformation.

Dráulio Araújo, from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte, will discuss the therapeutic use of ayahuasca; Silvana Bahia, from PretaLab, will discuss algorithms, opportunities and, racism; and Hasani Damazio, founder of Afro-Entrepreneurial network Afropolitan Station; among others.

The Wired Festival Brasil 2019 is an event promoted by GLOBO and Edições Globo Condé Nast, sponsored by the Ambev brewery, Powered by Vivo Empresas, supported by Grupo Pão de Açúcar, Johnnie Walker and Chevrolet, and with the involvement of Fazenda Futuro and Riachuelo.

On the eve of the festival, on the 28th, also in Cidade das Artes, the first edition of the Wired Festival CreativeX award will be held, a partnership between Wired and Ambev that will distinguish the most brilliant cases in the domestic market. Closed for 400 guests, the award features a range of contents and lectures on the future of technologies and innovation.
