MÚSICA BRASILEIRA:
Forró do Ganjah (Lapa) – The Forró do Ganjah is back to Lapa this Tuesday.

Band Cordel Negro and Elias Rosa will be performing live. DJ Juan Motta will spin Brazilian and international hits throughout the night.

Batuques de Lá (Centro) – BCo will be opening the November 20th holiday with a lively samba night.

Group Samba Independente dos Bons Costumes, singers Ana Bispo, Cacá Nascimento da Mangueira, Doralyce and Marcelle Motta, and also Carnival bloco Malunguetu will be the night’s attractions.

Samba Miudinho (Botafogo) – Tonight, Do Samba Hostel will host the Samba Miudinho roda de samba.

The group will play the greatest names of samba music, such as Paulinho da Viola, Jorge Aragão, Candeia, Martinho da Villa, João Nogueira, until 11:30 PM. The event is free until 7 PM.

Comuna (Botafogo)
Botafogo’s favorite bar for undergrad students and hipsters. Comuna is famous for its homemade burgers and variety of beer labels.

Bar Veloso (Leblon)
A stone’s throw from the beach, Bar Veloso is a bar styled after the bossa nova-era of Rio de Janeiro. Their feijoada is excellent, and they serve a variety of traditional Brazilian dishes and snacks. Expect slightly higher prices than usual, due to the prime location.

Shake Speakeasy Bar (Centro)
Run by the award-winning barman and mixologist Walter Garin, Shake Speakeasy mixes some of the best cocktails in the city in an inspired “hidden’”location. Located in a shopping center a few steps away from the equally innovative Curto Café, Shake Speakeasy Bar may be a little hard to find, but its thirties ambiance and competitively-priced drinks make it well worth the trip.

Blue Agave (Ipanema)
Located just around the corner from Posto 9, Blue Agave in Ipanema is well known for great Mexican food, drinks, and for broadcasting live sports. Additionally, most of the wait staff and crowd speak English.

Dida Bar e Restaurante (Tijuca)
Specialized in Afro-Brazilian and African food, Bar da Dida is a great option for authentic, soulful food one cannot find in every corner. Make sure to try one of its finger foods that have participated in the “Comida di Boteco” contest.
