Rio City Hall Suspends Sports Competitions Until June 25th

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Saturday’s Municipal Gazette published the announcement that sports competitions behind closed doors are suspended in Rio de Janeiro until next Thursday, June 25th.

The decision was based on reviews by the Rio de Janeiro Strategic Committee. The group was set up to structure the resumption of activities in the city.

The return of soccer, advocated by the Rio de Janeiro mayorlty, goes against other states and cities in Brazil, which are planning the return of competitions only in July.
