Mexico increases purchases of meat and grains from Brazilian producers

From January to August 2022, shipments of agricultural products from Brazil to Mexico have taken flight.

The value of rice and poultry imports alone have soared 210% and 64% year-on-year, respectively.

As part of the Pacic (Package Against Inflation and Deficiency), foreign trade facilities have coincided with an increase in the value of agricultural imports coming into Mexico from the South American giant Brazil.

According to figures from Brazil’s Ministry of Economy, some of the main products that Brazil sends are soybeans, poultry, corn, rice, and poultry eggs.

Although soybean imports continue to generate the highest value, between January-August 2022, the value fell 21% compared to last year.

On the other hand, rice or poultry meat has tripled the value generated by such shipments.
