‘Love in Times of Covid-19’ Exists (It Happens on the Balcony)

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – A love story involving drones, video calls and air bubbles may seem like the script of a futuristic movie or an episode of Black Mirror. But this novel is very real and has traveled the world.

The romantic young man entered a bubble and crossed the street to find his neighbor. But the walk ended up being interrupted by the police.

Yes, love exists ‘in Covid-19 times’ and the character in this story is New York photographer Jeremy Cohen who, under quarantine, fell in love with his neighbor Tori when he saw her on her balcony.

Cohen saw the girl dancing on the terrace, he liked it and decided to wave at her. Then he wrote his phone number on a piece of paper and, using a drone, delivered the note to her. Tori, surprised by this unexpected gesture, sent a message to the number.

Since then, there have been plenty of romantic moments, such as a dinner by video call and affirmations of love for the whole neighborhood to hear. But the most surprising was still to come.

Last Friday, the photographer left his followers dumbfounded after sharing a walk with his better half on social media. Cohen managed to give Tori a bouquet of flowers and even walked with her on the street, inside an air bubble. Yes, you read it right! The romantic young man entered a bubble and crossed the street to find his neighbor.

But, alas! the walk ended up being interrupted by the police, who are seemingly immune to romance.
