Gasoline prices in Brazil fall for the 5th consecutive week

The National Petroleum, Natural Gas, and Biofuels Agency (ANP) announced, on Friday, Dec. 23, the fifth straight reduction in gasoline prices.

The agency’s report is released weekly; this time, the drop was 0.2% at the pumps. The average price of the pump is R$ 4.93. In the previous week, it was R$4.94.

The state with the cheapest gasoline is Amapá, where the liter costs R$ 4.48. Next in line are Amazonas, with gasoline sold at R$4.64, and Mato Grosso do Sul, with a price of R$4.71.

The most expensive price was recorded in Acre: R$ 5.53.

According to the ANP, all the fuels researched by ANP had a slight price reduction in the week between Dec. 18 and 23 compared to the previous week.

The price of ethanol went from R$3.82 to R$ 3.81 a liter; the 13-kilogram gas cylinder went from R$109.43 to R$ 108.73; gasoline with additives had its price reduced from R$5.12 to R$ 5.11.

CNG fell from R$ 4.74 to R$ 4.73; diesel oil went from R$ 6.36 to R$ 6.28; and diesel S10 fell from R$ 6.48 to R$ 6.42.
