Brazil: the world’s most lethal spider is captured in Santa Catarina state

A spider, considered the most lethal species in the world, was captured in the city of Vitor Meireles, in Santa Catarina, on Saturday 4.

According to the Fire Department, an individual sought the corporation and reported that the animal was in his residence.

The arachnid was 8 centimeters long – twice the standard size.

According to biologists in the region, the banana spider (or armed spider) has a toxin that aggressively affects the nervous system (neurotoxin).

The armed spider’s wingspan can reach 15 centimeters (6 inches) (Photo internet reproduction)

The substance causes intense pain, tachycardia, and even pulmonary edema, which can lead to death.

The animal assumes a defensive position by raising its front paws and jumping 40 centimeters away, hence its name in Brazilian Portuguese, “aranha armadeira” (armed spider).

In this way, it fends off possible predators.

The body of the common armor spider is 4 centimeters, while its wingspan can reach 15 centimeters.

Its venom is even more potent than that of other lethal spiders on the planet, such as the black widow, the brown spider, and the funnel-web spider, for example.

It is found mainly on banana trees in South and Central America.

Check out the list of the seven most lethal spiders in the world:

1) Armed spider;

2) Brown spider;

3) Bunnel-web spider;

4) Black widow spider;

5) Rat-spider;

6) Red-backed spider;

7) Sand spider.
